Hello again.🙂

Yesterday I had my first breakfast of the holiday and it was a banana pancake with maple syrup and I would have it every day if I could. We had to wake-up early because we were visiting an Elephant sanctuary. Eddie the elephant man and his wife El took us in their van. When we got there we had to walk across a really rickety handmade bamboo bridge that had ants on the hand rails. Then we trekked through the jungle and a corn field to get to the elephants. One of the elephants escaped recently and ate 6000 Baht (£135) worth of corn!

Eddie has two elephants, one of the elephants is called Papaya and the other is Tomato. Papaya is 9 and Tomato is 40 so Papaya is a lot more energetic than Tomato and kept trying to grab the fruit out of our hands with her trunk. We fed them corn and bananas but they can eat lots of things. Afterwards we went to the river to wash off the Elephants to cool them down. When they got out they covered themselves in dirt so the mosquitoes wouldn’t bite.

I never thought I would see an elephant up close that was not in an enclosure and it felt really special. The whole day was just amazing .
