On the 31st of May I said goodbye to my family and dogs, who I will miss very much, before leaving with my parents and two younger sisters on a 3 month journey around south-east Asia. We left for a friends house to enjoy my last night in the UK before we got an Uber and left on the 1st of June. We flew from Heathrow airport across to Kuala Lumpur on a 13 hour flight which went quicker then I expected. I watched the movie Inception which I really liked although I struggled to sleep. Although on the next 2⅚ hour flight to Chang Mai I was able to get a bit off sleep but felt quite tired the next day. After landing at the airport we were taken to the hotel I am currently at and we will stay for another 3 nights.
I really like it here, there is a swimming pool, park and four dogs. We are staying in houses raised off the ground there is just some beds, bathroom and a view over the pool.
The food is BRILLANT, last night I had what was probably the second best meal of my life – I have only had one meal here so far but the dish I had, the Pad Kra Pow, is amazing and it only cost 160 Thai Baht which is £3.50!
The climate is very different to Wales, I keep feeling sick and I need to use the pool to cool off but I think I am getting more used to it.
I have been able to continue studying mathematics and keep track with a bit of school work but overall I am really enjoying it here.
