    About the Journey

We left home (in Penarth, Wales) on the 31st of May. Saying goodbye was really tough (especially to my best friend Millie who I’m really going to miss) but after we left it got better. We went on a roughly three hour journey to our friends’ house who live close to Heathrow airport. The drive went really smoothly with one toilet stop in the middle at Membury services. Staying with friends was fun and helped us feel excited. The next morning we got an Uber to Heathrow Airport. I haven’t been to an airport since I was 5 and I found it a bit scary at security. But I liked the flight, especially the turbulence which my mum thinks is weird. Although I enjoyed it I felt like the flight went on for days and by the end my butt really hurt. The flights were 16 hours altogether and I only got 3 hours of sleep so I was mega tired and I felt like everything was wobbling around me.

Thailand feels like being in a biodome at the Eden Project in Cornwall. The air is really warm and sticky and there’s lots of cool plants, animals and insects. The butterflies are the size of a large adult hand and the geckos are really loud! My favourite flowers are called white frangipanis because they smell amazing and they look like something out of Moana!
