12 Jun The Dogs
On Thursday last week we went to a dog shelter with over three hundred dogs and eleven cats! We left our hotel at around 12:00 and arrived at around 13:00. When we got there we went into a little area with dogs that were more vulnerable where we met Teresa who runs the shelter. In this area Teresa told us about some of the dogs two of which were paralysed, one fully and the other from the waist down. Another two dogs were blind and one kept walking into walls but lucky it had a very furry face so it didn’t get hurt (it was cute and funny).
After that Teresa had to leave for a while so Amanda came and showed us around so that we could meet some of the others. Once we had brushed and played with lots of dogs Amanda took us to help clean out the cat area which smelled really bad. Teresa joined us again to help. It took a while to complete the job but when we were done the whole thing looked much better. I got to play with the cats and I really liked the one which was missing an eye because it was very gentle.
